Why Earn your Pilot's Certificate with Landon?
Flying must be both exciting and efficient. It's your money, and my job to maintain a pace that advances you to your aviation goal cost-effectively.
It is important that we get to know each other. I can best meet your aviation goals by understanding how you best learn.
I am an independent contractor and have instructed for over five years and plan to continue for a long time to come. I am also a NAFI certified Master Flight Instructor. I've been flying for about 13 years. My two year average first-time pass rate is 96%. I use a well known syllabus and study materials to advance you through both the flying and ground portions of your training. I teach both individual and formal ground school classes.
Cost
I have provided a complete breakdown of the costs involved in becoming a private pilot.Part 61 vs Part 141
You may have heard of Part 61 and 141 instruction. All training is governed by Part 61. Part 141 details additional requirements for flight schools. A student training at a part 141 certified school under an approved course with approved materials may be elligible to complete ratings with fewer flight hours (for private pilots this time savings is dwarfed by the individual variation in the time it takes to learn to fly). Colleges offering college credit for flight training are typically done under part 141.
I feel that I offer the best of both worlds. I offer the structure and quality material of a 141 course, but at a 61 price. As long as you have a good instructor, 61 and 141 make little difference.
Location
I fly primarily out of the Hillsboro Airport, a large airport with two large crossing runways. It has all of the advanced equipment for IFR students to make it home safely after low, cloudy flights.
